With the all-new app builder product of Hubilo launched, event organisers tasks have become effortless and the event handling has become a smooth process!

The app is basically a build-up of Event App Content, Event App Builder, Event App settings and Event App Publishing. It’s a 3 step process explained below:

1. App Content is all about the event information, images, and banners to be uploaded. It consists of Event Info, Event Feed, Event Attendees, Chat, Notification, Edit Profile, Meetings and, Favourites. It is the informational part displayed to the attendees with the Agenda and the list of attendees and speakers in the event.

2. App Builder is the customization section which is explained in detail here. The customization can be done from the dashboard by the event organiser.

Event App Builder

- Add Attendees Section: This section has also been completely customized as per the event organiser’s requirements. The event organiser is provided with a choice to add the attendees in the networking community platform or provide full access to them.- Add Widgets: Add a widget is an option provided to the event organisers if they wish to add more sections in the following formats that’ll be displayed to the attendees on the event app. Event Organiser can choose from these widgets to add into app builder based on what is required in the event.

* Custom Weblinks: A URL can be added in the sidebar or bottom screen like Feedback section, any organisation’s important information like Privacy Policy etc.* New Menu Screen: It is basically a new menu screen displayed on the app builder which can contain the custom weblinks.* Collapsible Menu: A menu button which when selected by the user will disintegrate into more parts. It is useful when an event organiser needs to add sub-sections in a section on the app builder.* Live polls: Simple definition explains; a screen will pop up with live polls ongoing in the event.* Scan QR code: For on-site check-in, this feature is handy for the attendees. Event organisers provide check-in access to the registered attendees from the QR code provided to them through the app builder. Attendee requires scanning the provided QR code when entering into the event.* Leaderboard: It is basically a screen displaying the user’s activities in the event and keeping a score of them.

- Rearrangement of Sections in the tabs — Tapping onto the option of rearranging, event organiser will encounter a screen displaying the sections arranged in the current format in sidebar and bottom panel. There is one restriction here that maximum 5 sections are allowed in the bottom panel of the app builder. Also, the organisers will be notified that the sections can be migrated from the side panel to the bottom panel but not vice versa. Rearrangement can also be done through the traditional Drag and Drop method.

3. App settings — They are the settings set by the event organisers like functionality settings, gamification settings and so on. We’ll discuss some of the new implementations, first and the foremost being the login process.

- Login Section : The login section has been bifurcated into two major sections namely, Social Logins and OTP-based logins.

1) Social Logins are the generic logins that you must have seen in every event website or an app. Logging through social media accounts like Facebook, Google Plus and LinkedIn are some of the examples one log into the event app builder.

2) OTP based logins are further divided into 2 categories — System Generated OTP and Custom OTP:-

* System Generated OTP is the usual one, where the attendee enters their email id and the system automatically triggers the program and sends OTP to that email id. After which the attendee can successfully log into the event app to browse through it.The people who are added in the community will receive their OTP while those who have not registered themselves on the community will receive a message saying: ID not registered in the community. After the OTP is received and the person logs in then comes to the functionality of profile completion also known as onboarding.* Custom Generated OTP is a manually assigned OTP by the event organiser wherein the primary field is generally kept as the employee ID code and not the email ids of the attendees. This is useful for the incentive trips that the event organiser arranges for its employees every once in a while like in the banking sector or corporate industries and so on.

- Access Types: Access type refers to whether the event organiser wants to keep the app open for all the attendees/viewers or in a restricted mode. Let’s discuss the detailing of the 2 kinds of access types.

* Open Access: Open access provides the viewers who wish to register for the event to all the sections which have been kept open by the organiser in the app. Here are some of the essential features an organiser must be aware of in the open access:a) The event organiser can put any one of the login process types.b) As soon as you open the event app, the first screen to be displayed will not be that of login but of the Event Info which is the first icon on the side menu bar or the bottom bar.c) All the sections are accessible to the users that aren’t password protected.d) When the login screen pops up, the user can click on the cross button (x) and exit.* Restricted Access: Restricted Access as it says restricts the user from entering the app itself. The event app as soon as it will open will first display the Event Info screen and as soon as the user tries to access any other section of the app, a login screen will appear with no cross button (x) to exit. In short, without a login access, no user is permitted inside the event app.

4. App Publishing — Last but not the least, app publishing is the final step to get your event app live on the Play Store. It requires some mandatory fields to be filled out, after which the app can be submitted for approval on the App Store. If any changes are made to the app, it can be re-submitted later on.
